Hell Let Loose Wiki

The Engineer is one of the fourteen playable roles featured in Hell Let Loose.[1]

Using the Wrench, they possess the ability to place blueprints for Structures and Fortifications that are unique to their role. These Structures and Fortifications can then be built with the Hammer if enough Supplies are present. The Engineer's blueprints are largely defensive in nature and can be used to fortify an important region of the map.

Gameplay Tips[2][]

Tanks for the cover – When repairing a tank or other vehicle, always put yourself in a position away from enemy fire. The tank can happily take small arms fire, your soldier cannot.

Mine-d your stepAP mines can be used both inside and out. If you’re garrisoning a building, pop one at the building’s entrance to stop overly zealous soldiers from quickly storming your location.

Engineering victory – Prior preparation and foresight for the battle ahead is vital for this role to be most effective. Deploying mines and fortifications takes time, your chances to place defenses will be severely limited and outright dangerous during a battle.

Friendliest fire – Neither AP nor AT mines can be set off by your own team, whether they’re on foot or in a vehicle, so don’t worry about accidentally team-killing an ally. However, friendly bullets and explosives can set off your mines.

Trivia[]

  • Nodes passively generate XP at a rate of 10 XP/min for each node constructed, to a max of 30 XP/min. If the player constructs nodes and decides to switch roles, the XP will be awarded to whatever role they switch to.[3]
  • Engineers are limited in the number of each structure that they can place. The limit can be found adjacent to the name of the structure when the Wrench is equipped.
  • Nodes are limited to 3 of each type per team. Every player can build 1 of each type so long as the team limit hasn't been reached. There is no squad limit. Two or even three players on the same squad can swap out engineer and build the same node type.
  • The three different node types provide resources to the Commander and some passive benefits to teammates. The types are: Munitions Node, Manpower Node and Fuel Node.
