The M4A1 Sherman is a medium tank featured in Hell Let Loose. It is distinguished by its rounded frontal armor and shorter cannon.
The M4A1 Sherman is the medium tank used by US forces in Hell Let Loose. 1 Sherman will spawn at the beginning of each match depending on the map. While the US forces have access to more tanks than the German forces, the short 75mm gun on the Sherman has trouble engaging Tiger I, and formerly Panther, tanks from the front, therefore these tanks should be engaged from the sides and rear.
Like most other tanks in Hell Let Loose the Sherman should be used at Mid to Long range because of its slow turret rotation as well as its weak side and rear armor.
Armament[]
The M4A1 features a 75mm Gun M3 for its main cannon, this gun is quite capable of engaging enemy medium and light armor. To take down enemy Tiger I armor, the crew must use their superior speed and agility to flank it, as the 75mm Gun cannot penetrate the frontal armor of a Tiger I or Panther, but can penetrate a Panzer IV from the front. Both AP and HE shells are available for use, with HE being more effective against infantry with its large splash damage.
The M4 also features two Browning M1919 machine guns, one mounted on the hull and controlled by the Tank Driver, and the other is fixed onto the turret, which is controlled by the Tank Gunner. They have an ammo capacity of 200 rounds before needing to reload with a total of 5 boxes of ammo, allowing you to put a steady barrage of suppressive fire on enemy infantry.
