The Tiger I is a Heavy Tank in Hell Let Loose. It is only available to the German faction.

Armament[]

The Tiger features an 88mm KwK 36 L/56 for its main cannon. This gun is quite capable of engaging enemy heavy, medium, and light armor. Both AP and HE shells are available for use, with HE being more effective against infantry with its large splash damage.

The Tiger I also features two MG34 machine guns, one mounted on the hull and controlled by the Tank Driver, and the other is fixed onto the turret, which is controlled by the Tank Gunner. They have an ammo capacity of 200 rounds before needing to reload with a total of six boxes of ammo, allowing you to put a steady barrage of suppressive fire on enemy infantry.

Speed[]

Max Speed Time to Traverse Turret 90° Reload Speed
18 km/h 13s 8s

The Tiger's max speed, turret traversal speed, and reload speed are on par with those of the American and Russian heavy tanks and are thus unremarkable. At top gear, it is 5 km/h slower than the Panther. Its reload speed is also 2s slower than the Panther's. [1]

Agility[]

Gear Time to Turn 180° (sec) Time to Turn 360° (sec)
R 9 14.5
1st 9 14.5
2nd 17 33.5
3rd 16 31.5
4th 14.5 29.5

The Tiger's quick turn rate in reverse and 1st gear allows it to respond quickly to threats and protect its vulnerable rear plating. This leaves the Tiger well suited for stationary playstyles. However, the Tiger's agility drops substantially upon entering 2nd gear, where it will take over half a minute to do a full spin. The Tiger also has one of the largest driver viewports of all heavy tanks.[1]

Comparison to the Panther[]

With two heavy tanks available to the Germans, players must choose between the Panther and the Tiger I. The Panther out-performs the Tiger in almost every noteworthy metric. Regarding mobility, the Tiger has a faster turn speed in reverse gear, 1st gear, and 2nd gear, but the Panther has a superior top speed and turn speed in 3rd gear and 4th gears. The Panther also benefits from a smaller chassis, allowing it to navigate tight corridors that the Tiger cannot. Though the main guns of these two heavy tanks inflict the same amount of damage, the Panther's quicker reload speed allows it to dispatch enemy heavy tanks much quicker than the Tiger. They have the same fuel cost and respawn speed.
